TAPS
On Tuesday night, possibly earlier, thieves-repeat thieves- entered the site and removed all the taps from the water tanks and attempted to attack some of the ball valves. They also threw off some of the tank covers.
If any plot holder had anything, particularly metal, stolen this week please inform Dorset Police on 01305 222222 and quote crime number C14D004002.
On hearing the news, Alan Ottaway of Christchurch Borough Council stated that it will replace the taps as soon as possible. This could be one of the benefits of having an Allotment Strategy.
There was no dastardly plan to cut off our water supply.

Old Manure site (on link between middle and far roadway)
The area previously used to store manure on the link between the middle and far roadway has been taped off to stop further drops of manure.
The replacement manure storage bin is at the end of the middle roadway.
However, the old manure that is already there can still be taken from this area - just try, please, to leave the tape in place!
Hopefully, in time, this area can be cleared and tidied up - and the manure will not be spilling onto the roadway!

NEW BINS FOR 'MANURE' (AND PROMISED WOODCHIP) DELIVERIES
You may have noticed a stack of pallets at the far end of the site over the last few months! Well, finally, thanks to a team of volunteers (Sid Warren, Ron Clarke, Doug Cort, Mark Merrit, and Richard Crake) we have turned them into a pair of enclosures at the far end of the middle access road. There were other offers of help for which we are grateful.
Working hard through Sunday morning (17th Nov.) they cut back the hedge, cleared the rubbish and built the two enclosures that, with a little bit of finishing off, will become new bins, one for the manure deliveries and the other for a promised delivery of woodchips.
This is the first stage in trying to tidy up the various manure heaps that threaten to overwhelm the roadways.
As a reward for visiting and reading this new website entry, before the first deliveries are dropped off in the bins, if you want to, you can help yourself to the considerable amount of well rotted compost in the bins - that will be buried by the first deliveries!
Many thanks to the volunteer helpers!
