Potato Blight

Despite the heat and rain we have not had a warning from the Blightwatch website of a 'Smiths period' when Blight is most likely.

The nearest confirmed infected sites, as at 17th July, are near Yeovil and well beyond Southampton.

However, it is suggested you take all precautions as once it strikes there is no cure.
  • Keep foliage dry. - If you want to water, direct water at the roots.
  • Spray with Bordeaux mixture (or other fungicide) or follow your chosen preventative strategy.
