Celebrating our Community Green Flag Award - the 7th consecutive year!
Welcome!
Welcome to Roeshot Hill Allotments and the community that thrives there. There are in excess of 200 plots of varying sizes and over 250 individual plot-holders. The allotments are owned by Highcliffe and Walkford Parish Council and are largely operated on their behalf by the Roeshot Hill Allotment Association.
The annual rent charged by the landlord, Highcliffe and Walkford Parish Council, is about £10 per Rod with plots being (normally) 5 Rods.
The landlord limits tenancies to residents of the old Christchurch Borough, i.e. in the parishes of Highcliffe and Walkford, Burton, and Hurn and in Christchurch Town Council.
The Association runs through a committee of plotholders and the Association is affiliated to the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners. (NSALG renamed the National Allotment Society (NAS) The national allotment body).
Membership of the Association is open to all tenants of Roeshot Hill Allotments (£6) and other Christchurch allotment tenants can be Associate members. Membership gives access to the Trading Hut and other facilities.
Just as important, it also includes insurance through NSALG which is a requirement of your tenancy.
