Clearing space for new strawberry plants?

21/11/2022

In a quick afternoon visit I started on the strawberry patch but it was too cold for such fiddly work so I went to finish off weeding the next bed to ready pile leafmould on. With my No-Dig method I was able to hoe off the weeds and just rake them off as almost all were only rooted in the surface mulch. I managed to extract some of the sweetcorn roots still in the ground but left those firmly fixed to deal with later - if necessary - or to rot off as recommended in No-Dig!
Leaving my neighbour's share of the new strawberry plants on her plot I made a quick getaway as darkness descended.
