Steve's Blog.

Start of this year's leaf collection.

8/11/2022

I collected the first 4 bags of leaves from this autumn from my neighbour and together with a couple of bags of garden waste from another neighbour. I took them to the plot in the trailer and dragged them onto the plot.
There are still 3 bags of leaves from last autumn behind the leafmould bin but they are too full and heavy with wet leaves for me to lift them up into the bin at the
moment.
Having emptied the garden waste onto the compost bin, now pretty full, I fetched the Jerusalem Artichoke stems I cut down yesterday and loaded them into the trailer to take home to shred.
As the showers had held off and the sun was shining I started forking leaves from one of the bags from last year into the leafmould bin. However, very quickly, a dark cloud blew in and it started to rain so I packed up and set off home - just in time to avoid a deluge!
